SWISS CHARD (Beta vulgaris cicla)
This specie is a
foliage beet, which has been developed for its large fleshy
leafstalk and broad, crisp leaf blades.
Chard is not so
rich in iron as spinach but is a good addition to the list of
potherbs and deserves more general planting, especially in the home
garden.
